This festive market brings local makers beneath one roof to share the foods, creations, and traditions that root us to place. Craft your own midsummer flower crown, get an heirloom quality tintype portrait made by Alchemy Tintype Studio (more info on this process by clicking here), dance to live local stringband Forty Drop Few, dye your own silk scarf with mushrooms, enjoy an elderflower soda, tea service, baked goods from historical recipes, and other treats while you shop from over 40 local vendors.

Alchemy Tintype Studio - tintype portraits (click here to learn more)
Alchemy Tintype Studio is a Portland-based historical photography studio run by artist Ashley Jennings. Using the original 19th century wet-plate collodion process, Ashley uses silver and metal to create portraits which will become heirlooms. This transformational photographic process, made using an on-site darkroom and antique Victorian-era lenses, is the most romantic way to record your likeness. You’ll see a simple sheet of metal transformed into a luminous reflection of yourself: true photographic alchemy.

Honored Body - craniosacral therapy
Alexandra Diamond LMT, CST-T is a trauma-informed bodyworker, certified and specializing in CranioSacral Therapy; a Human Design Reader and Counselor; faculty at East West College of the Healing Arts; a writer; a bridge; and a part-time channel. With this multi-hyphenate background and over 15 years of experience, she incorporates a wealth of techniques and knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, spirituality, and psychology into sessions to treat pain and dysfunction, restore mind-body connection, and bring the whole self into balance. True healing comes from within ourselves and through her private practice—Honored Body—Alexandra aims to empower her clients through transitions and thresholds with a strong focus on women's health and prenatal care, mental health and grief, the queer community, and our youth. Outside of private practice and teaching Ethical Practitionership, she loves to write, to sing, to walk, and to weave.

Sylvia Friday is a basket maker, folk artist, educator & storyteller. Gathering sticks and sharing stories, she tends wild plants and teaches basketry up and down the west coast. The spirit of her work is woven from her relationship with fiber plants, with her ancestors and with the basketry community.
Angel Quinones - spindles, wool, and yarn
Angel is a first-generation latina fiber farmer devoted to raising animals for high quality meat, milk, & wool. She offers spinning and fiber processing classes grounded in tradition and hands-on learning. Her work highlights the beauty and intention behind every step, from pasture to textile. At the market, Angel shares finely crafted spindles and wool for fiber artists of all levels.

Juli Rae Art - quilted textile art
Juli Rae is a Portland-based textile artist specializing in natural fabric dyeing. Her primary body of work consists of nature-inspired textiles and tapestries. She is a self-taught quilter and has been sewing for nearly fifteen years. Committed to an art practice that honors Mother Earth, she is committed to a sustainable art practice and works exclusively with organic fibers and natural dyes gathered from flowers, leaves, and roots. Juli has shown her work at various locations in the PNW, including Cascadia Fine Arts Festival, Gallery 408, Portland Saturday Market, Alberta Street Gallery, Tender Loving Empire, Portland Open Studios, the Wild Arts Festival, and various street fairs. She also teaches workshops on quilting and natural dyeing.

She sources her fiber from small hobby farmers throughout the Willamette Valley and utilizes traditional hand methods for washing, carding, and spinning the super soft alpaca fleece into beautiful and unique skeins of yarn. Holly has been spinning yarn for approximately 20 years and is excited to share this ancient artform with you.

Juliet Howard - herbal children’s book
Local herbalist and author, Juliet Howard, will be sharing her new book, The Girl Whose Garden Comes Alive - a beautifully illustrated chapter book about the magical plants that live in many of our backyards.
This book will deepen a child’s relationship to nature, their sense of place, and provide them with practical information about herbalism. Children will learn about some of the plants to reach for and connect with when they get a bee sting, scrape their knee, or feel anxious. This book introduces a series of plants, along with plant recipes and preparations, and mindful ways for children to begin to connect with plants.

Elana Gabrielle is an illustrator, maker, and designer of printed textile and paper goods for the body and home. Using natural fibers and renewable materials, each design is created with form and function in mind. The shapes and colors are inspired by wild and varied landscapes from foggy beaches to desert dunes, and invite mindful connection with the natural world both in the home and out in the wild.

Vessel Kitchen Gardens is woman-owned business on a mission to help people rewild their urban lives through ecological garden design and education, and botanical art and goods made from plants we grow and forage.
