Visible Mending: The Loving Magic of Restoration

Join Sylvia Eden, author of Occult Needlecraft, for a unique live reading event and hand-mending workshop in the cozy, earthy atmosphere of Hedgerow Herb Co.

In contrast to traditional garment-mending, where the goal is to hide repairs with subtle stitches, visible mending is about turning repairs into ornamentation. Using beginner-friendly techniques, anyone can revive their old clothes with bits of artistry.

Bring all your garments & textiles in need of repair (yes, even sweatpants, socks and kitchen rags), choose from a wide selection of specialty threads and fabric patches, and stitch new life into your belongings. Meanwhile, listen to a live reading of excerpts from Occult Needlecraft and The Stitching Hands, a pair of essays exploring the magic potency of textile art and craft.

"Mending is a great honor to the spirits of textiles, and bestows power on what is mended. It is a gesture of love, an oath of relation. In it, we affirm that the divine act of creation does not necessitate the constant output of new things, but the ongoing transfiguration of what exists into renewed, replenished forms." -- From Occult Needlecraft

ABOUT LEODRUNE PRESS

Leodrune Press is a small independent publishing house based in the Pacific Northwest. Our publications explore ritual, myth, and mysticism through a decidedly ecological lens, in response to the volatilizing climate we have inherited and the careful conduct being asked of us all. Our aim is to provoke readers to root down into the vital subsoil of Earth, beneath all traditions and orthodoxies, to experiment with raw, reciprocal ceremony.
